A new purpose-built training facility, designed by Stephenson & Turner in association with Hassell, the Scenario Village is a realistic training facility consisting of three different full-scale residential housing typologies for training of their frontline Police.
The Frontline Safety Improvement Programme (FSIP) was established to enhance the safety of frontline staff as they undertake the day-to-day challenges of an increasingly complex operational environment.

Commissioner Andrew Coster said the Scenario Village clearly represented the Police’s commitment to staff safety:
“Its mission is clear, ensuring the frontline is safer by making sure Police are trained, equipped, supported, and recognised for the value they provide in keeping our homes, roads and communities safe.
A lot of work has gone into the design and development of Scenario Village to ensure it is as realistic as possible. The houses are fully furnished and staged as if they are lived in”

Looking like ordinary homes but with walls lined in plywood and windows made of Perspex, the facilities are far more durable, designed to withstand robust training exercises for years to come. The design also features specialist breachable doors and windows that can be reset and reused without damage, enhancing the training experience for specialised squads.
